Transportation of the Future

The Indianapolis Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) Calendar Project was a shared venture in 2006 and 2007 between MPO, the Center for Interactive Learning and Collaboration (CILC), and 5th grade students in Indiana and Texas. Through videoconferencing sessions with these students, MPO planners shared current and future transportation challenges and brainstormed solutions. Following the sessions, the students examined personal, environmental, economic and global issues in looking at the current structure of transportation and possibilities for the future. Student ideas where captured through art work and became the 2006-2007 MPO Calendar. We think you will agree with us: The future is bright, and it is in the hands of some conscientious and creative young minds.
