Content Provider: SOITA
Program Title: Physical Therapists: Exploring Careers in Physical Therapy

  • Impact on Learning
“We had approximately 60 Career Tech Health Technologies students in attendance. This program gave them real-world information that simply is not taught in a textbook.”
  • Increase in Educator Knowledge
“Absolutely. These video conferences are a tremendous value, both for finances and instruction. I think it is imperative to give students a chance to talk to professionals in their chosen Career Tech field to better help them make future schooling and career choices. I see students in traditional high schools making career choices without ever having any experience or exposure to the field before beginning college or other post-secondary education. I always wonder, "How do they know that's what they really want?" How can they be so sure that's what they want to do when they haven't had a chance to walk in the shoes of a professional in that field?”
  • Recommend? Yes
“I thought the presenter did a very good job...I would like to see her visual presentation be a little more interesting and engaging. It was a little dry. Perhaps interject a humorous story or anecdote or two to more engage the students. Students who were interested in learning about PT were attentive, but there were some who were having a hard time concentrating and might have been reeled in a bit more from a little more engagement.”
    -Grades 11-12, Ohio Career Center
