The following are two examples of the scope of our work:
Arkansas
In the Fall of 2008, CILC was contracted to evaluate progress toward achievement of the four focus areas identified in an Arkansas Legislative Act which established the Arkansas Distance Learning Development Programs at the Arkansas Department of Education. This program, referred to as the Arkansas K-12 Distance Learning Initiative, was established to: 1) Help alleviate the increasing shortage of qualified teachers; 2) Increase course scheduling opportunities; 3) Provide students with an enriched curriculum beyond the school accreditation standards; and, 4) Provide online professional development and instructional resources to teachers and administrators. The report finds that state policy and education leaders of Arkansas should feel a sense of pride in the work of the citizens who grasped this opportunity to bring equitable education opportunities to all students within the state. left hand corner.
Wyoming
In the Spring of 2009, CILC, in partnership with Wainhouse Research and Pine Cove Consulting, was appointed by the Wyoming Governor’s Task Force to examine and make recommendations regarding the various efforts taking place in Wyoming concerning distance education, video conferencing and general IP-based communications. Major findings were that the state of Wyoming has many highly educated, passionate individuals involved in distance education, many of whom themselves have received undergraduate and graduate degrees via distance education. A long history of addressing the need to overcome geographical barriers has led to an appreciation of distance education. Certain organizations have very robust programs for distance education, using a wide variety of technologies and methodologies; others are lagging, missing programs, focus, and
leadership. The Wyoming Report Choose the following document from the list: 090731 Wyoming VTC Assessment Report.pdf
