HIGHLIGHTS ON...
These are the feature articles of each issue.
Preferred articles would include one of more of the following:
- Results of research
- Success stories from the field
- Visual literacy
- Immersion
- Evidence of learning for students, teachers, and/or staff
PARTNERSHIPS AND COLLABORATIONS
Preferred articles would include one or more of the following collaborations and share experiences from videoconferencing or web-based collaborations:
- Classroom(s) to Classroom(s)
- Teacher(s) to Teacher(s)
- Teacher(s) and Content Provider(s)
- Content Provider(s) with Content Provider(s)
- Administrator(s) to Administrator(s)
Examples could include:
- Lessons learned--the good and the bad
- "Aha" moments for students/learners
- Evidence of improved learning for students, teachers and/or staff
LESSONS LEARNED
Real life lessons learned based on experiences within a videoconferencing or web-based environment.
LIMELIGHT ON LIBRARIES
Libraries are invited to share their experiences in any section of CILC E-News,
but
"this one is for you!" Preferred articles would share videoconferencing or web-based experiences.
Examples could include:
- Collaborations
- Benefits
- Evidence of improved library services
- Evidence of learning by clients and/or staff
TIPS FROM THE TRAINING ROOM
Those who train others in the use of videoconferencing and other collaborative technologies, either technically or from a curriculum integration perspective, are invited to share their experiences.
Examples could include:
- What you, as trainers, have learned that would be helpful to teachers.
- Processes
- Content
- Both/Other
CONFERENCE NEWS
All conference news must relate directly to videoconferencing and other collaborative technologies.
- Share conference information addressing videoconferencing
- Share learning resulting from a conference experience
Article Parameters
Length
- Each article should be no longer than 650 words.
Graphics
- Jpeg format
- No video or audio clips at this time
- Links to other websites are acceptable
Photos
You must submit one of the following releases for each photo:
- A release form signed by you, the author, which attests that you have releases on file for each individual shown in the photo.
- A
release form signed by each individual shown in the photo.
Testimonials
You must submit one of the following releases for each testimonial included.
- A release form signed by you, the author, which attests that you have releases on file for each individual quoted.
- A
release form signed by each individual quoted.
Detail
Include in your article:
- Enough detail to make your article meaningful and helpful to others.
- The impact/outcome(s) of this experience.
Bio
Include a brief biographical description of yourself.
- Who you are
- Your position
- Your organization/affiliation
- Your background in videoconferencing and/or other collaborative technologies, including level of experience
Example: newbie, getting comfortable, very experienced
- Your relationship to the experience you are sharing
Submission Instructions
All articles must:
- Meet the Article Parameters.
- Be e-mailed to Dawn Colavita.
- Be in one of the following formats:
- embedded in the email
- attached in a Word or Plain Text document.
- Be submitted in English.
Deadlines
Fall Issue: October 13, 2006
Winter Issue: December 15, 2006
Spring Issue: February 16, 2007
Writing Tips
- Write from your own perspective
- Write that which is new or innovative and yet practical
- Write that others may learn from this experience
CILC Response to Entries
CILC will:
- Respond to you within an 8 week period.
- Reserve the right to edit, shorten, etc. your entry.
