PD Provider: Cleveland Museum of Art
Program Title: Teacher Workshop: Introduction to videoconferencing with the CMA

  • Future Impact on Student Learning
“For most of the audience this was their first exposure to videoconferencing. After the connection they were shown how to use the CILC database and given time to search for programs. The teachers were excited to bring this authentic learning from experts into their classrooms.”
  • Increase in Educator Learning
“The CMA does a fantastic job engaging teachers into the videoconference experience. They personalize the content to audience interests. Their programs are of such high quality I feel confident in recommending them and using them as an example of videoconferencing in the classroom.”
  • Recommend? Yes
  • Comments:
“I just really appreciate how Ariel is able to get the teachers engaged. An afternoon summer conference on a nice day is a hard audience but the connection was the highlight of the session. Thanks!”

PD Provider: Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum
Program Title: Great Moments in Rock and Roll: Popular Music Through the Decades

  • Future Impact on Student Learning
“I had music educators and they loved this program. Most of them identified with all the content. That will not be true of their students as much but still this program is exciting and getting students engaged and appreciating all music is important.”
  • Increase in Educator Learning
“I lived through these times but still I learn something every time. Personally speaking, I do not always pay attention to lyrics so having students be aware of how events result in sparking certain music is great.”
  • Recommend? Yes
“It is so interesting, educational and engaging.”
  • Comments:
“So many students today only appreciate the music of their peers. Having them experience other music is invaluable and this program also helps them appreciate and enjoy it.”

PD Provider: Wesley Fryer
Program Title: Powerful Ingredients for Blended Learning (Part 1 of 2)

  • Future Impact on Student Learning
“Students will enhance their learning and motivation by using technology to support their projects and learning.”
  • Increase in Educator Learning
“Most of the technology interaction techniques that Wes described were new to me. The ones I have used made more "sense" and the ones I had heard about in the past received further explanation.”
  • Recommend? Yes
“Yes, I would recommend it. I only wish it could have been longer so we could have gone over more items. I did appreciate the great explanations of the ones we did have time to learn and talk about. It was great to be able to ask questions and get clarification.”
  • Comments:
“Students will be able to do more hands-on and in-depth activities in reading and social studies in my classroom using the interaction with digital learning. I look forward to teaching the students about these new teaching tools I learned about.” -Grade 5 Teachers, Texas

Content Provider: The Bathysphere Underwater Biological Laboratory
Program Title: The Bathysphere Underwater Biological Laboratory

  • Impact on Learning

  • Recommend? Yes
“Most definitely! Peter was an awesome presenter, very knowledgeable and made the program fun for the kids!”
  • Comments:
“Video was a bit "pixilated" at times, and we lost our connection once, but tech support on both ends was fantastic! Peter was very patient as we tried connecting the first time and getting all of the kinks worked out. Thanks”
  • - After School Program, CA

Content Provider: Adventures In Medicine & Science (AIMS) Program of Saint Louis University
Program Title: Anatomy of the Human Heart

  • Impact on Learning
“The students mentioned in their evaluations of the week long camp that they really liked the video conferences and that they learned a lot.
It taught them the blood flow through the heart and the chambers and valves and he (your instructor) did an excellent job of explaining the chambers, valves, arteries, etc.”
  • Increase in Educator Knowledge
“I have only used pictures of the heart but to see an actual heart was awesome. It was so helpful and I learned a lot too!!”
  • Recommend? Yes
“Absolutely!! He was a very engaging and interesting instructor.”
  • Comments:
“Diagrams of the heart are good, but to see an actual heart and have someone point out the chambers and arteries, especially the brachiocephalic, left common carotid and left subclavian artery and coronary arteries, was fascinating. He explained everything very well, too. He explained how arteries carry blood (usually oxygenated) away from the heart, but the pulmonary artery carries blood (de-oxygenated) away from the heart into the lungs.”

“It was an inquiry based lesson where students can explore the concept. It was a great way to help the teacher relate the concepts.”
  • Comments:
“The program went hand-in-hand with the fourth grade SLEs for Motion and Design. It would be a great for assisting the teacher in the harder to understand concepts of Newton's Laws of Motion.”

Content Provider: Pro Football Hall of Fame
Program Title: Tackling Student Interest

  • Impact on Learning
“I felt like the group (teachers) were a tough crowd because it was the end of the day before a three day weekend and after the first week of school. HOwever, I got a lot of good feedback following it and felt it was awesome. Thanks Jerry. Great Job.”
  • Increase in Educator Knowledge
“I was surprised and impressed at how much of the content is created to fit into curriculum standards. One thing that I think helps us create high levels of adoption is to make it relevant to instructors. If they feel it will help them achieve certain standards then there is a higher propensity to use them. I felt Jerry did an awesome job of focusing on that part of the content. I found that very valuable.”
  • Recommend? Yes
“Coming up with creative ways to talk about careers, race relations, history, and social studies in general that can keep students engaged would seem like a challenge. The National Pro FHOF made it relevant to the instruction and I felt engaging for students.”
